Allianz is investing directly for the first time in a German electricity grid and acquiring indirect shares in Amprion GmbH, the second-largest electricity transmission system operator in Germany. The transaction is being conducted through the asset management subsidiary Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI) and operational insurance companies within the group.
