Analog Devices plans to acquire AI chip specialist Empower Semiconductor

Analog Devices is planning to acquire AI chip specialist Empower Semiconductor for approximately $1.5 billion in cash to strengthen its portfolio. Empower's architecture for vertical power delivery directly beneath the GPU enables energy savings of "approximately 20% of system power." The AI business accounts for one-fifth of revenues.
