Apple positions its most powerful Macs as an alternative to rented AI computing power in the cloud. The most powerful systems cost around $20,000 per device. Johny Srouji's sales argument: Once the hardware is purchased, there are no usage-dependent costs per token, and sensitive data can remain local. According to IDC, Apple currently holds only 4.6% of the enterprise desktop market – local AI could thus open up a previously untapped enterprise market.
