On Friday, August 15th, the US government significantly tightened the rules for receiving subsidies in the solar industry. Instead of previously investing only 5% of the project costs, developers of large projects starting from 1.5 megawatts must now demonstrate truly substantial physical work – such as foundational work or the construction of supporting structures. Only solar plants below the 1.5 megawatt threshold can still rely on the previous 5% exemption rule. What sounds very negative in itself has been positively received in the market....
