A new report by the Federal Network Agency is causing a stir. Two scenarios were calculated to determine how much dispatchable capacity is needed. This capacity is expected to be provided by gas power plants. The estimated demand is between 22 and 36 GW. "The need for action is now. Therefore, we must push forward the power plant strategy with high pressure and build dispatchable capacity as quickly as possible," said Minister of Economics Katherina Reiche.
