"Explosive growth" in digital content creation and consumption with a quarterly record in the digital media business was reported. Generative AI is gradually being integrated into the product range to significantly simplify the creation and editing of images, videos, music or documents. Since the Firefly image-to-text generator was unveiled in March, 3 billion images have already been created, including 1 billion in the last month alone. Adobe unveiled Firefly Image 2 Model, a beta version of a new imaging model for the Adobe Firefly Web app that delivers higher-quality images, more accurately represents people and improves text alignment. This model is said to "significantly" improve creative control and image quality in Firefly. In the process, the new "Generative Match" can also be used to select a reference image to guide AI image creation from an original.
New design templates and world\'s first generative AI model for vector graphics unveiled
A Firefly vector model, a beta for Illustrator, was unveiled as the world\'s first generative AI model for creating vector graphics, such as logos, website graphics, product packaging or icons. With a Firefly design model, there is also a text-to-template feature directly in Adobe Express to create template designs such as flyers, posters, invitations. What is also integrated is the "Generative Fill" already available in Photoshop, which has already seen a 10 times higher adoption rate compared to previous versions. With it, objects and people can be inserted, removed or replaced in images with promts. However, video editing is also increasingly coming into focus. Within Premier Pro, generative AI can already be used to retrieve transcripts and modify them as in a text file. This means that not only can certain scenes and content be found and edited more quickly, but filler words such as "er" and "uhm" can now also be automatically detected in transcribed dialogs and deleted with a single click.
Adoption of generative AI continues to grow - used in over 50% of all projects
Recent surveys with 750 professional creatives in the U.S. show that 87% have already tested various generative AI tools to create and edit content in the last six months. The features are being used in more than half of projects. A key benefit is time savings, which 55% of respondents already estimate to be 20%. With content demand expected to increase fivefold in the next two years, generative AI is becoming increasingly important. With the new GenStudio, using Firefly as the center, multiple products are connected via an end-to-end solution to accelerate the branded content supply chain within organizations. Adobe touts secure and transparent content publishing. A new "Icon of Transparency" is designed to provide ultimate transparency with a "CR" symbol that has also been adopted by major brands, including Microsoft, Leica Camera, Nikon and Publicis Groupe. Increasing demand is not the only factor expected to fuel growth. Subscription prices will be raised by an average of 10% in November, and Firefly\'s monetization has already kicked off with a monthly quota of "Generative Credits" for creating AI images. Revenue growth of 10% and net income growth of 20% exceeded expectations in Q3. The analyst consensus projects total revenue of $19.37 billion and net income of $15.93 per share for the current fiscal year 2023. In the following year, this figure is expected to be $21.72 billion or $17.97 per share.
