Will the company now become a bigger beneficiary of the AI chip boom and in particular the demand from NVIDIA?
Alpha & Omega Semi is already a supplier of MOSFETs and power ICs for NVIDIA\'s HGX/DGX100. According to Apple expert and analyst Ming-Chi Ku, a change in Apple\'s certification process means that Alpha & Omega Semi will also be a supplier for the GB200 at the expense of MPS and Renesas. NVIDIA wants to bring out a new version of its leading AI chips every year so that suppliers have to be approved more quickly. The company could start supplying products to NVIDIA towards the end of the year.
The GB200 is NVIDIA\'s new top AI model. Demand will be very high because, in conjunction with the NVIDIA NVLink, it offers 30 times faster real-time LLM inference performance for language models with several trillion parameters. In addition, compared to the H100 air-cooled infrastructure, the GB200 offers 25 times more performance with the same power consumption, while reducing water consumption by more than 13 times. Alpha & Omega will therefore benefit significantly from the GB200. The share has now broken out to a 52-week high and ended the correction that has been going on since 2022!
