The recently launched next-generation AI PCs are expected to initially gain a stronger foothold in the consumer segment, while commercial penetration is expected to increase significantly in 2025 and 2026.
HP plans to drive consumer awareness of AI PCs through a multi-faceted approach involving various stakeholders: This includes working with manufacturers and silicon providers to ensure that the AI capabilities of PCs are well integrated and emphasized. This will be complemented by the development and promotion of applications that use AI to improve the user experience. The company plans to conduct retail training events to educate sales staff and consumers about the benefits and features of AI PCs. This comprehensive approach aims to build a strong understanding and demand for AI-enabled PCs among consumers.
Both Q2 numbers and outlook were in line or slightly ahead of expectations. HP is targeting long-term revenue growth of 2% to 4%. The company is targeting growth in several specific areas of the PC market: Similar to printers, HP is focusing on higher average selling price (ASP) segments of the PC market, which include premium devices and gaming PCs. HP is expanding its services business, including subscription models and managed services, to create more recurring revenue streams.
